What if tonight were the LAST night?

Hat tip and thank you to my great Aunt for sharing the following video with me.

It reminds us that we cannot know the hour in which our Lord will return for His bride. Though many have tried, date setting and predictions will always fail.

However, just because we cannot know when Christ will return, does that mean we give no thought to it? Of course not. It is our blessed hope; not a hope as in wishful thinking, but hope meaning assurance. A glorious and exciting anticipation.

The video also reminds us that we should make the most of our time of waiting for that blessed hope.  We need to busy about the Lord’s work. We are not to abandon our daily responsibilities, but move forward with confidence, knowing He who goes before us.

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. Titus 2

We need to be zealous for good works, and live a life that is sober (deliberate, thoughtful, of sound mind), righteous and godly, striving for holiness.

Not knowing the day or hour should not be an excuse for being lazy or complacent, rather it should increase our sense of urgency- for any moment could be our last.
